epidural gone wrong

I had an epidural for my 2nd daughter as I was having a C-section. All went well untill later in the day as I started feeling stiff. Next thing I knew I felt paralized and could not move from the neck down. They told me it was just a stiff neck but Ive had a stiff neck before and knew that was not it. After about 2 days of pain they said that my spinal fluid had leaked out and they needed to take blood from my arm and put it into my back. I also found out that it was an assistant that gave me the epidural NOT the actual doctor. It is almost 6 yrs later and I cannot sit or stand too long in the same spot. I have had trouble keeping a job as most jobs have you sitting or standing. I have been to a few doctors and they all tell me the same thing that it is because I am not exercising enough. I admit I am not an athlete but I walk alot and remember do have 2 daughters. I do not know what to do as sometimes it gets so sore its hard to function at all. I feel as though no one believes me. Is there something that can fix it. Do I need to go on disability as I cannot keep a job and if so how do I get a doctor to believe me?? PLEASE anyone with advice HELP me :)

  • april last year i was in labour around the 12th hour i decided to have an epidural, within at least an hour my body was dead weight and blocked from toe all the way past my throat, i freaked out couldnt speak and hardly breath. my midwife seen there was a problem and called for the doctor to fix me quickly, soon after i got feelin back in my arms and face, they ended up turning it off and i gave birth naturally. the next day i experienced the migrane they warned me about so they did a blood patch on me. it was horrible i couldnt get out of my bed, could hardly stay awake long anough to feed my son. to this day i have had nothin but regret with having the epidural, my body was so heavy and dead weight they didnt move me once while i was in labour i swear it has done permanent damage to my tail bone, i cant sit and stand with out this pain that i remember so well caused from the epidural!
