I am a 37 year old healthy woman, except for being about 15 pounds overweight. I have had both sides of my neck enlarged for about 15 years. My condition is painless. I have seen an ENT dr. and he states that I have an enlarged neck because of me being overweight. I recently have lost some weight and my neck mucscles have unchanged. This dr. also stated that I have inherited something (common in men) that allows for my neck to become enlarged. These lumps are very noticeable and not very feminine. I have also had a complete Thyroid workup which was not the problem.
Any feedback would be helpful in tring to figure out why i have this on both sides of my neck.
