I am a 49yr old female married w/4 wonderful children, up until last year I loved life................In may 2006 I had a double knee replacement which has left me in constant hip pain...........They tell me that it's arthritis, which I had had some in the right hip before surgery ( no big deal) I had never had pain like this in any other arthritis place.....I have never walked
right after surgery, I always felt like my gate was wrong, well I have been pursuing answers, and I keep telling them I feel like I am knocked kneed, well the last doctor that saw me said that Yes, I was knocked kneed but that wasn't what was causing my pain, someone, please tell me that I am not crazy, I am now walking differently because of the knocked kneed and that doesn't throw the rest of my body off???? My walking with my knees knocked doesn't affect the wrest of me............I need to hear from someone..............Thanks so much for listening:(

My left leg bends out at about an 8-10 degree angle, and my right has maybe a 3-5 degree bend, which wasn't the case before my surgery. My surgery was otherwise spectacularly successful, and my surgeon suggested it might just be the price of protecting the outer compartment from further damage. He didn't want to talk about it, and it may represent a less than ideal outcome. I've found a few mentions from patients about it online, and one said it resolved as she continued to work on extension, so I'm actually trying to make it straight.I can walk a block or two, without even a cane, but when I saw my reflection walking toward a glass door, I was very distressed. I looked really crippled. Then my physical therapist popped some adhesions after using ultrasound on my scar after using an ultrasound gadget, and I thought maybe I could also recover some alignment, so... I forced it a little. I let my knees bend so I could put my feet together, then I slowly straightened them, fighting to keep the alignment. I could feel the femur actually kind of twist into place, but I could hold it.I got myself some Salomon xcountry trainers with great arch support. It's hard to say whether I'm really beating it, but it has become much easier to do. I can now rock from heel to toe with my feet together, and walk a line without falling off. When I hold my leg up, though, it still looks as crooked as before.I see that you posted this 5 years ago. I'm very interested in an update, of course.
