Don't know if this makes sense

A few months ago I had to have a lumbar puncture done. I didn't seem to have any problems from it (headaches) but lately it's been itching on my back where I had it done and there are tiny bumbs there. I also keep breaking out in other places that lasts for a little while and then goes away and comes out somewhere else. My back and the back of my legs itch alot. I had it done about 5 months ago and the itching started about 2 or 3 months ago.
When the Dr did the lumbar puncture, he had to do it several times because he couldn't get it right and finally had to get another Dr to do it. When he did it, I kept feeling pain down into my leg.
I guess I'm worried that they messed up something or something from that is causing my hives. I never had hives before like this. It's mostly pressure related - like when something is pressing on my skin or if I'm sitting for awhile my legs itch. How can I find out if somehow I got this from the puncture? Or is this not possible? I hope this all makes sense. I'd really like to find out what is going on. The itching is driving me crazy.
Thanks for listening.

  • Unfortunately you should look into hives. They can be caused by anything, and can also be very mysterious, weird places, weird times, and weird reasons. In my line of work I've dealt with a lot of people with chronic hives. This puncture could have caused a reaction in your body that is producing this effect. Most chronic hive suffers are unable to control when or why they get them, but usually they start after something happens in their life like an accident or injury, death in family, or even depression. The next time you get this rash try to make an appointment with a family physician to show them. -Sarah

  • I had acupunture and I thought it brought something out in my spine. I think it might bring out latent viruses onto the skin...like give it a route. In any event, it could be an unrelated case of shingles or herpes 2, which can come out on the butt. I would try to get a blood test for it just for peace of mind.
