Hi, I've been to the ER twice and no one knows what could be wrong, so I'm posting here, wondering if anyone has similar symptoms or any ideas.

I'm male, 42 years old. 6'1'' 250 lbs. Smoked for 25 years, quit cold turkey last week after trip to ER with these symptoms:

dizziness, lightheartedness, not spinning, more like a headrush that occurs with my head getting really hot, and a headache that occurs at the base of my skull and radiates up the back of my head; numbness in left arm down to fingers, like pins and needles. This also occurs with a general feeling of tightness in chest. Not pain or stabbing, but just tight all over. Sometimes the pins and needles occur in my left foot, but usually just my arm and hands. The worst of all of this is the pain in the back of my neck/shoulders that radiates up my head.

These tests were given and all came back normal: CT scan, EKG, Chest X-ray, Corodid ultrasound, MRA/MRI, and many bouts of bloodwork. BP is normal, cholesterol, good. They treated me as thought I suffered a TIA, although, that was basically ruled out because everything came back normal. I have no history of any heart problems or stroke. The only medical issue I've had recently is an ear infection that lasted several months over the winter. Going for stress test and Pulminary esophageal (camera down throat) on Wednesday.

If anyone has any ideas, I would truly appreciate it.

  • Sorry for the typos (lightheadedness) and lack of a clear title. I'm so nervous about this that i am not thinking straight. If I can register to edit it, I'll try.
