My daughter is 3 years old and was diagnosed with a secundum atrial septal defect at age 1. since then she has had a "cold" type infection AT LEAST every month no matter the season and with very minor illnesses or abrasions, experiences an extreme inflammatory response on the cheeks of her face almost a cellulitis. there is always something wrong. her appetite is never excellent. she stays tired. she's 3 and a half and still take a two hour nap every day and sleeps for 11 hours at night. she had chronic vaginal yeast problems too.
recently we had an episode with her cheek after she fell on some asphalt. we went in- oral sulfa abx were prescribed along with topical bactroban... cellulitis and impetigo were dx.
next day new strange itchy lesions showed up-- doctor said it was scabies-- prescribed Permethrin lotion for everyone.
then the whole family caught something viral- severe vomiting, diarrhea, low grade fever, body aches (all symptoms of H1N1) we went in with my daughter with severe dehydration- they prescribed oral rehyd. therapy with tamiflu.
after feeling better from that, scabies seeming better, severe rash develops on her torso and mainly face, slightly itchy, doctor says it's probably a simple viral exanthem and to come back if it gets worse.
IT NEVER ENDS
