I am a 42 year old female. I have not been well for quite some time. I've been to many, many doctors. I see a Rheumatologist regularly. I also do alot of research and feel that many of my long standing issues (which started to develop after the birth of my children 7 years ago) are also symptoms of B12 deficiency. I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's. I also suffer from a long term chronic condition of duodenitis and gastritis. I asked my Rheumatologist to test for B12. The test came back as "normal" with a B12 measurement of 287. It has an asterick stated that some people who test below 400 experience symptoms and could be "occult". I currently have such severe calf pain that I can hardly think of anything else. My hands have that "glove" type feeling and often feel tingly. I have so many other symptoms. I believe I have suffered from some neurologic effects - including what seemed to be some sort of psychosis - I was hearing things. I want to be treated but can't find an MD that will pursue this. I live in Western MA - moved here from NY two years ago and have not been able to find a provider. I have tried soluable b12 tablets for a period of time without result. I'm not sure if I should persist in trying to get treated and I'm afraid not to.
Thanks for any help - greatly apprecited.....
Best regards,
