I have a severe hand contact dermatitis that I've had for 16 years.Started when I worked in a coffee shop washing dishes as a 16yo.My hands are constantly red, itchy, swollen, dry and covered in blisters. It has been dormant for 3 years but at the beginning of this year it came back with a vengeance. It is so bad I had to quit my job.At the moment nothing seems to help.Doctors have prescribed steroid creams and antibiotics and it makes no difference.I have tried many different moisturisers and dermatological creams.I have to shower with special dermatological gloves as the shampoo and soap make it worse. The doctor reckons it is pointless to do allergy testing as there are so many things to test for that I may be allergic to and they don't know where to start. This condition doesn't affect any other part of my body, only my poor hands. Can anyone help me I'm at my wits end?I am desperate to gain any info or an answer on how to relieve the itching. If I could stop that then maybe it will subside. The itching is so severe I cannot stop once I have started(will continue to scratch until skin is bleeding) PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONEReply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
