Congenital Hypothyroidism - I need help.

I was orn without any thyroid glands 32 years ago. I have been on levothyroxine all of this time. My doctors are very unresponsive to any suggestion that my tablets are no longer working for me. I am in cintact pain lethargic and deppressed,I have also noticed recent degeneration in my eyes. Can anyone suggest any altenative treatments I can purchase myself?
