I am posting for a friend of mine who has been suffering with this condition for about 2 years on and off, most recently almost on a daily basis. She is a smoker of about 1.5 packs a day. About 100 lbs overweight and take codeine daily for pain in her back. She is 51 years old and has been tested for gastro paresis. SHe wonders if taking the codeine in conjunction with her smoking may be causing this.

Any ideas?
