I had a fall on my bike in mid Sept 08 and I scratched my self up and a few bruises mostly on my left side where I landed. Anyways a few days later I noticed swelling in my left lower leg (calf ankle and foot) I thought it was a mild sprain etc. Well a week went by and it stayed swollen red and started to be very uncomfortable. I went to the walk in clinic and the Dr said it looks like cellulitis and gave me antibiotics and away I went. 2weeks later the symptoms had not changed however the wounds cleared up somewhat. I went back to the clinic and asked again what about the swelling and they said it was just a symptom that you will have to live with and to get some stockings to keep the swelling down etc. Well I can't buy that due to the fact the swelling is all up the left foot to my knee. Around a week later no relief and the infection came back and got worse. I know am on my 3rd lot of antibiotics and it's the 4th day and some of the redness is lessening but still swollen and it looks like it's healing but I am still worried that this isn't cellulitis !! At times the leg looked like it had chicken pox and blistered up bad. I try and keep the leg elevated and that helps a bit but I can feel a heavyness with the entire lower left leg. It's SO bad that I can't even close my leg up behind me now. Could this be life threatening or possibly a dormant form of flesh eating disease ? HELP ME PLEASE !!!!!!

  • I would like to know how old you are, if you're female or male and if you have ever before had problems with your left leg. Do you have any varicose veins? Where do you live?
