In Sept 06 I had to have a colectomy with closure of colovesical, low pelvic anastomosis, loop ileostomy and gastrostomy tube placement.
In Nov 06 I went back to to have the loop ileostomy reversed and shortly there after is when my problems started and continues still. After removing the bag and putting my colon back together,I started itching all over and my face and neck became red and started breaking out. At first the Doctors thought it was stress from the operation or a reaction to
a medicine and it would soon clear up and go away.It has now been 10 months and instead of getting better it continues to get worse. I have seen several doctors and none seem to have any answers. The most common answer I receive is that you got something we are just not sure
what it is. (Very Frustrating). I have heard just dry skin,to seborrheic dermatitis, not getting enough nutrients to my body (skin and nerve endings) and now Ichtyosis.I have tried numerous medications and topical creams to get the situation under control with no luck.Everyday I have
extremely bad itching all over which I am using different medications to control the itch but they usually make me very drowsy. My face and neck
are still very red with constant scaling of the area.If anybody can help
or have anything like this I would truly appreciate any help I can get.
I NEVER had this problem until after my second surgery and I am 54 year
