hi all here is a great story:-begins 13th feb 2005 firstly i have three dogs, and you know dogs will fight each other for no apparent reason, anyway i was in my front room and had the dogs on leads and they started to go for each other in the mayhem my thumb was pulled back and the pain was enormous, after things settled down,i went to my local hospital the following day as my thumb was all out of shape, was facing down when my hand was extended,at the hospital i had an x-ray on it and was told nothing wrong here just the onset of old age says the head nurse so i had it strapped up, i said to her my thumbs are the same age why is one bent and the other not bent, she said its just a sprain and to keep it strapped till tomorrow night.
some weeks went bye and it got no better so i went to my gp i told him that my thumb still hurt like ***l so he sent me back to the hospital where i had another x-ray on my thumb same story once more so i soldiered on again for some monthsand i was in so much pain i returned to my gp he then sent me to see a hand surgeon at a major hospital.where i saw a consultant and he said thats broken and i told him the story so far,he was that surprised at the sight of the thumb he called in another consultant to see the shape of it, after the consultation i was told to see a surgeon and have my thumb sawn in half and be reset in a proper way as it had been dislocated and broken at the same time,it was finally attended to on july 28th 2006, and i am in worst pain now and have lost an inch in my hand span and my thumb is now 5 mm shorter than before also have a 2 inch scar to boot.and still hurts like crazy hows that?
