I am writing on behalf of my 31 year old sister Tammy who was just diagnosed with brain cancer. She had surgery at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on April 15, 2008 to remove the tumor. She just received news yesterday that it was a cancerous tumor and that they need to start radiation and chemotherapy within the next two weeks.
We know that those are probably the options she has to go, but are wondering what kind of alternative methods are out there as well.
She has always been a healthy person with no medical history. She doesn't smoke or drink or do drugs. I know that cancer doesn't discriminate in anyway, but that is just a bit of her background.
She has two Girls age 5 and 3 and a Husband, and she wants to do whatever she can to beat this cancer.
I am wondering if anyone out there has had Brain Cancer and has beaten it, of if they know of someone who has had it. What kind of treatment did they go through?
Please any and all information is greatly appreciated. As you can imagine our Family is devastated by this news.
Thank you all so much.
