I am now 18 and thanks to the surgery I had, I can live a perfectly normal life. Surgery is always a big decision and I would definitely recommend getting a second or even a third opinion before making any decisions but children are very strong and I know this from personal experience, that they can make it through these circumstances and come out shinning on the other side. I believe it is to do with the innocence of children that makes them so strong because they do not understand everything therefore do not worry like we as adults do. I know now if I had to go through it all again at my age I wouldn't make it. Bowed legs can cause many problems in ones life and may even in extreme causes lead to a wheelchair if not corrected at an early age so I would definitely recommend at least considering the surgery it would make your child's adult life less painful and a whole lot easier.
