Should I have a biopsy of multiple nodules in goiters on my thyroid? I do feel some pressure in my throat. I have hyperthyroidism and only have to take 25mcg of Levothroid. I am most concerned because my dad died of c-cell derived medullary carcinoma. I have been genetically tested and am not predisposed to medullary carcinoma. My doctor, an internist, said that I do not need a biopsy.

  • Yes; I have it and they have biopsied mine several times. If it gets really choking, they can easily drain it but I would refer you to an endocrinologist.
