My Aunt is 73 years young was completely healthy, worked full time, and had an active life until about 2.5 months ago. She was rushed to the hospital with severe pain and bleeding from her bladder, after getting the pain to stop from flushing out the blood clots in her bladder they used a scope and found a baseball size tumor in her bladder, it was removed, they also said she had blood clots in her lungs. We were told that she had 3-6 months to live if nothing else was done about all of this. She was then released from the hospital after about a week stay and put on coumadin for the blood clots and about 3 weeks later she had a PET scan where they found a tumor in her lungs. She went in for surgery 2 weeks ago to remove the tumor from her lung, she had a VATS procedere to remove a wedge, They said it was Bladder cancer that had spread to her lung. She now has Chyle leak that is not clearing up she is still on the chest tube, and now she has an unknown infection causing her to have a fever of 103. I am just wondering how something like this happens to a relatively healthy person who saw a primary doctor regularly? She has been told that they want to remove her Bladder and do chemo, She does not want any of this she just wants to let the cancer run its course, What can we expect in the remaining time?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
