Help, I have a 2 month old son who was born completely healthy. He is a breastfed baby and at 2wks he stopped pooping I was not concerned until 2wks went by with just streaks of poop. So I took him to the hospital were he was diagnosed with an enlarged anus muscle. My family now gives him an enema twice daily to keep his colon empty. I have also been doing some reflexology techniques. All this is helping empty his colon but I have not figured out how to stop him from crying for hours while he tries to poop on his own or during an enema. The doctors have tried laxatives for a couple weeks but just seemed to make things worse. I have been told repeatedly he will grow in to it, that there is no time frame on how long all of this will go on. If anyone knows of techniques or heard of anything like this please let me know?

  • I am sorry your little one is having such trouble, and would like to suggest he is having an allergic reaction, possibly to your breast milk or to foods that you are ingesting. This may sound crazy to you, but please consider a form of therapy called NAET - Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique. www.naet.com to find a practitioner near you. You would need to treat your son through a surrogate, usually yourself, but I think this treatment would really help your son. NAET is noninvasive, safe, and extremely effective for diagnosing and clearing an allergic reaction. What sort of foods are you eating? Do you eat a lot of dairy, wheat, soy, corn, or other items? Allergies are one of the most commons causes of colic and intestinal upset in babies and toddlers. Western allergy testing is not very accurate IME. And laxatives do not address the root cause of his problems. There is something else happening other than his functional diagnosis of enlarged anus muscle. NAET can get to the bottom of this and clear out the allergy so he no longer has these problems. Please just consider this.Other than that, I would suggest going on a rotation diet and eating bland foods for awhile and see if there is any change. Google rotation diet for suggestions on this. Best wishesDOM
