Ok, so lately, I have been having difficulty breathing, it started in the summer but it has prgressed up until now. i get very klightheaded all the ime, and i get out of breath very easily. I beath very shallow and it takes a great effort to take a deep breath, i get bad headaches and chest pain also. I was dignosed with asthma about a year ago, but I think i was misdiagnosed because my asthma treatment doesn't work and I never have had an asthma attack. My doctor told me I am just chronically dehydrated, which isnt the case, someone help?

  • not a doc (microbiologist)but if you live or have visited dry desert parts of the USAor the Mississippi river regions of the USA it might be worth thinking aboutsome of the pulmonary fungal infections. Blastomycosis, Histoplasmosis and Coccidiodes. The latter being the one you get from hot dry desert regions.Thses fingi can also cause skin lesions.Another fungi Cryptococcus can also give lung infections and can produce chronic headaches, ie a chronic meningitis.Cryptococcus is associated with pidgeon droppings.Hope you feel better real soon and that it is not anything serious:cool:

  • I wish I could help you...I have been Dx with a narrow breathing passage, had more test done A Melon?? Breathing test and it showed Asthma...I took Advair and a puffer. The Advair made me alot worse. I never had a asthma attack before taking that medicine? I was being tested for other medical conditions when they noticed I had a short breathing problem? Now the specialist says to not take Advair, but isn't seeing me anymore? I guess she didn't like it when I told her I got a bad reaction from taking the meds she recommended? I guess I'll wait to see if my breathing gets worst? Good luck with yours
