I'm a 38 year old female with 2 kids, a great husband and generally a great life. For 1 month I have suffered extreme insomnia to the point I can't sleep at all unless I take Ambien, and then I only get about 5 hours of sleep. I've tried Lunesta but really doesn't work for me. I have nausea and at times abdominal pain. I have lost about 10 lbs over the last month because I can't eat. My body is jittery especially my legs.Sometimes my legs are so weak its hard to walk. My blood work is normal including thyroid tests and glucose. I have to take a leave from work because I feel so terrible and can hardly take care of my family anymore. I started taking Lexapro 2 days ago because everyone is telling me its stress and or anxiety or even depression. I've made an appt. with a therapist too to see if anything can be uncovered. I don't know if I'm 100% sold on the idea that unrealized stress and anxiety can cause such profound physical symptoms I'm a mess and in a viscious cycle of declining health. I cant sleep because I'm stressed and I'm stressed because of not sleeping and the way I feel. My symptoms are real, and all I can do right now is cry because I see no end in sight. I can't go on like this for very much longer. I am a nurse so I know knowledge can be my worst enemy at times but if anyone can think of something I'm missing please let me know.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
