I have been experiencing anxiety 24/7 for about a year and a half. No panic attacks just high anxiety every minute of the day which is the worst in the morning when I wake up. Sometimes I wake up from a dead sleep from anxiety. It did seem to really start after a very stressful event however I am not so sure it is the real problem. I did see a psychiatrist who put me on Zoloft it really did not help and now I am experiencing terrible joint pain. I have trouble using my wrist and picking up my purse. My neck is very stiff and painful as well as my hips. I have had difficulty opening my hands some mornings and other mornings bending over is painful. I went to a chiropractor but it is not helping. I also now have black spots like floaters in my eyes and some blurry vision. I went to an eye doctor and he told me they were just floaters and not to worry. I have had general blood work done checking my thyroid, adrenals and all was normal. I feel hung over every morning and I don’t drink. I just feel terrible. I also do not drink any caffeine and I have been exercising which seems to not help and when I push myself makes me more anxious instead of helping. I have terrible leg pain at night when sleeping or during the day when I am sitting also. I have been taking vitamins but they are not helping either. I have been taking a multi plus someone told me Sam e and fish oil is great for the brain but nothing has helped. I am ready to sell my business if I can’t get myself better. I am a mom of a 2 year old and 12 year old and my kids need me. I also started having scary memory loss and difficulty remembering what I was talking about. I also have frequent headaches and do suffer from migraine headaches which I have had for years. Does anyone have any ideas? I am open to trying anything at this point and doctors just don’t have the time nor do they care to help me research what could be my problem.
My doctor just sent me to a neurologist to be checked for MS but he just did a physical evaluation..and said I did not have it….he did not run any test just physical exam… My doc she also mentioned fibromyalgia but I don’t think that causes anxiety... I am wondering if it could just be due to a simple vitamin deficiency and maybe taking oral vitamins are not helping… I feel desperate to get rid of this anxiety.. it is better than when I first got it.. but now I have all these other symptoms and I am not sure if I have just become so accustomed to having it. I have also had weird sensations of tingling down my arms.. and frequent goose bumps which I never used to get and do have ringing in my ears and difficulty swallowing sometimes both of which I have read goes with anxiety. I have read a lot trying to figure out the best plan of action but I find no where that says anxiety causes joint pain.. which is what is leading me down the road to a medical reason as my stress has been reduced and I still and struggling.

  • Has the doctor checked your meds? You could be having a reaction to something. An allergist or naturopath may be able to help you out. Anxiety is common in people with fibromyalgia. Your headaches may be tension headaches from tight muscles in your neck. A therapeutic massage would be helpful for that.

  • HI thanks so much for your reply. I am not on any meds just have been tinkering with vitamins.. I went to a naturopath yesterday and she said I am mag def and also told me my body was not producing enough cortisol or too much of it..can remember..but she is also testing me for vit b-12 def... After just one dose of ps-100 my joints feel better also she told me to get mag. calm and take it and keep increasing my dose until I get diarrea then to back off a bit. She said that someone with a mag def would know seeing how much you need to take to make a difference and that when one is truely def in a vitamin just taking a multi will not help.. you have to see a naturopath to make sure you don't OD on something specific but I have my fingers crossed that through analysis I will find an answer.. even with fibromalgia... that is what doctors brand you when they can't think or know what is wrong. I look at it as I want to know the source and refuse to take drugs to mask the symptoms.. I am patient so I know eventually I will find an answer I have hope.. I def will go and get a massage..... though..:-) Thanks!

  • I AM NOT A DOCTORthere is a person on these forums that hates when I post. So I want to make sure everyone knows. I am not a doctor. The symptoms you are experiencing could be Lyme Disease and or other tick borne diseases. I am not a doctor. But after 16 years of suffering from symptoms and tons of medical research, tons of doctors, tons of lab tests, I finally got help when I visited a Lyme Disease Support forum. You will be surprised if you check out www.Lymenet.org Of course, YOU MAY VERY WELL NOT HAVE LYME DISEASE. But I offer this information to you ... as I was offered this information which ended up saving my life. There are many things which can cause your symptoms. FMS is often diagnosed when it is actually Lyme. What is FMS? What is Chronic Fatigue? Even MS, Lupus and other diseases are misdiagnosed instead of Lyme. I spend years researching ... and ended up helping myself because I found information that fit my MANY sypmtoms. Yes, I will probably get BLASTED by a person in this forum who does not accept that these symptoms can be caused by Lyme or other tick borne illnesses. So get ready for it, but in the meantime, check out information about Lyme and check out the specifics of where to go to see a doctor and where to be tested. General doctors will not generally take sensitive enough testing and few of these doctors have seen the myriad of symptoms that Lyme can cause. Make your own decisions.
