Suddenly about 15 years ago I began having drug, food and environmental allergy problems. I am even allergic to allergy and asthma meds. I am able to eat only beef, tomatoes, and "wheat only" products, aka certain pasta and cream of wheat cereal. I'm desperate and scared and no one seems to want to help me or to be able to help me. I have been to many doctors and they all seem too busy to be bothered. I'm tired, and hungry and scared and I don't know how much longer I can live like this. My body is falling apart. I'm in pain and can take nothing for it because I'm allergic to everything. Please, somebody help me.

Come on over and look at the reasonably complete list of symptoms posted a couple of weeks ago and talk with folks. Maybe we can help.

  • Did you by chance have your gallbladder removed about 15.5 years ago? If so you need to be taking a bile substitute. (I now take Cholacol) I had terrible food and environmental allergies, my mom got arthritis and lots of other really bad things. Hope this helps

Dr. Devi Nambudripad is a genious IMO. It helps to reverse the allergic response. www.naet.com for more info and a practitioner near you. It doesn't help everyone, but I'd say 75-80% of patient report relief, some notice dramatic results. It changed my life. Cannot recommend this highly enough. Best wishesDOM

  • I'm not sure if you'll see this or not, since it's been a little while, but hang in there. I know how you're feeling. In the past year, I'm suddenly allergic to everything, too! It all happened since a few years ago I lived in an apt with a mold problem. Suddenly, my life has basically gone to ***l. My upper rt lip and right inner cheek swell every time I eat, or if I clean. I've been to the allergy doctor and everything. I've lost lot's of weight because it seems there is nothing I can eat! I'm allergic to corn, soy, sulfites, dust, dust mites, animals, mold, trees, grass..and God only knows what else..oh, eggplant too...and any foods that are high in mold, from canned food, to dried foods, to potatoes... I never know what to eat! As a single mother of four children, (the two youngest are 1.5 and 3--so a handful!) it's hard to have time to cook meals for myself. Lately, i've been eating cream of rice cereal, plain meat with no seasonings (seasonings make my lip and face swell), plain veggies with only real butter (margarine contains soy), and brown rice with wild rice. That's it. I also am allergic to every antibiotic I am ever given-from heart palpitations, to numbness in my extremeties...it's awful! I know what you're going through! Have you had your thyroid checked? Sometimes, an over- or underactive thyroid (usually underactive--hypothyroidism) can cause you to be allergic to everything. You go to your doctor, they take some blood and do a thyroid test..that's it. If it's a problem, they then correct it by putting you on a thyroid med such as synthroid. Mine is okay. So mine must be hereditary or something. But, I would demand a thyroid test. If that's what it is, it can be corrected simply. Oh, one more thing, they make plain benadryl (the pink box) without any dye now, so you shouldn't be allergic to it. You were probably allergic to the dye in it. And there's a new allergy med out that is wonderful, it helps with hives (any swelling) it's called Xyzal. My doctor just gave me some samples. But know that someone else in this world is going through it right along with you. I cry alot and feel frustrated. I don't even look like me anymore because of the constant facial swelling...I feel like Rocky Balboa or something.I hope I've helped!Christina@donet.com, http://www.theoldpeople.us (regarding my book)

  • Thank you for the ideas, but my thyroid has been checked and is fine. I've been worked up the wahzoo for everything by soooo many doctors, and still nothing. I AM allergic to all forms of benadryl. It's the medication itself, not just the inert ingredients. The only foods I am able to eat are plain beef, tomato juice and wheat-only pasta. No seasonings, no nothing. I can drink only water. My body is falling apart. My skin is breaking down now and my teeth are quite literally crumbling like chalk. I'm very tired.I too, am a single mom. Three great kids.

  • What do you mean your skin is breaking down? Acne? My skin is in crap shape too...pimples, dry, open pores...and it wasn't like that even a year ago! I feel like crap all of the time as well. How old are you? I'm 36. Have you been to an allergy doctor? And has your reg doctor ran a blood test on you to see if anything else is going on? I know how you feel...I feel afraid everyday, don't feel like me anymore, don't look like me...I feel sad much of the time. I spend a lot of time in prayer believing for deliverance..I don't know what else to do. I feel fine sometimes, and others, I feel like I said above. My circulation is bad, too. Any chance you have an infection somewhere and it's causing all of this? Like a bad sinus infection or anything? I hope I'm not upsetting or frustrating you, just trying to help because I know all too well how you're feeling. Just know, as I mentioned before, someone else in this world relates....I'm in Ohio. Hmm....if you have insurance, people travel across the world to see this Doctor here in Ohio..his name is Dr. Boyles, Dayton Ear Nose & Throat. He'll even help you to get to him! Why don't you look him up. He's supposidly the best. I was seeing him..and getting somewhere, but I lost my job and my insurance ran out.

  • Yes, and the part of Ohio I live in is supposidly the worst in the nation for allergies! I am not trying to sound corny or silly to anyone...but I've been doing a lot of praying and believing. Believing doesn't mean ignoring your symptoms and pretending they don't exist, but believing that regardless of your symptoms, God has healed you...quoting scriptures that promise this and praying much. With my allergies, there has been no hope for me. I, like this woman, have tried everything. She has it a bit worse than me, but I've cried and felt like giving up. I, too, have been to TONS of doctor's, allergy doctor's, had MRI's, CT scans...everything...to no avail. It was confirmed I had allergies and this it was not in my head or anything..but I've got four kids to take care of and a life to live. Since I began believing in faith, because His Word promises healing "...by HIS stripes I am healed..", and His Word does not lie...then I'm delivered; regardless of whether or not it appears that I am. "Faith is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for...the EVIDENCE of things NOT SEEN." Since I've been doing this, my allergies, for the first time in YEARS have been improving. God doesn't want His children to be sick or to lack anything...food, money, clothing, etc. It is hard to MAKE yourself believe and to STOP speaking negativity and sickness over yourself, esp when you're still having symptoms. But if you only believe, and stop saying, "I'm sick! There's no hope! I'm going to give up!" (and believe me, I WAS there not long ago!) begin to speak faith and healing over yourself and it WILL happen. Don't just trust me, trust He who made you and designed you. Since He made you...HE can and WILL fix you...but you must first believe, and speak faith..even if it takes weeks or months to SEE your healing...believe and speak faith and speak healing scriptures that promise... again, "By HIS stripes (****s dying for you and for me) You are healed..." You will see results. What do you have to lose?

    8 Surprising Facts About Cholesterol

Did you know that one in six US adults has high cholesterol?

  • There is a cure for your allergies, but most doctors and allergists either don't know of it or won't tell you about it. It's called NAET (Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique) and it totally painless and effective. I have been doing NAET treatments for my allergies and immune system for the past few years, off and on and it is the only thing that has provided me any relief. Before my NAET treatments I was unable to consume soy or dairy, and after two treatments (one for cheese, one for milk) I was able to eat yogurt and cheese again! The technique is done through either acupressure of acupuncture. My NAET practitioner uses acupressure. It is accomplished through holding a vial of whatever substance you are allergic to, and then stimulating pressure points in the body. Somehow, this serves to 'clear' the allergy. You then only have to wait 24 hours and can then consume whatever you were treated for without symptoms! It's amazing! My NAET practitioner has told me similar stories of people such as yourself that were literally allergic to everything, whom she treated to a full recovery. If more people were informed that they could not just treat their allergies, but actually eliminate them, there would be a lot of allergists out of business. After 3 years, I still can't grasp the mystery of how it works, but it DOES work, and is well worth trying. Some NAET practitioners will only treat one allergy at a time, but other (such as mine) may treat several. Do a search for NAET on-line to learn more about the technique...I wish you the best of luck and look forward to hearing that you are feeling better soon! Oh, and if you have insurance, sometimes NAET treatments can be covered under acupuncture, as long as you list it as such, or even chiropractic care (where NAET treatments are done).

  • I don't know if any of you will get this, as it's been a while since you posted. I originally found your post when I, too, was having horrible allergic reactions to everything I ate. Awful skin reactions and swelling and hives. I eventually found out that I had parasites, and once I treated them everything cleared up again. I was able to treat them naturally, without all the poisons. I actually put my story on a website, because I wanted other people to know the info. I promised myself I would do the website and then come back to this thread and post. Here's the link to my full story:http://www.howigotmyhealthback.com/I hope this helps someone. It was awful...

  • don't give up, i just realized i'm allergic to the below(and this isn't everythign)I too have pain whenver i eat alot of foods. My throat swells up it hurts like ***l and i can't function and i want to die. At times i'm worried it'll be impsossible for me to breath. i recently went to the ER and i now have an EPI-Pen, i hope you have one too. You need to find an allergenist, if you've seen one see a better one. I live in bozeman, mt (in the middle of nowhere) and have a great allergenist. Maybe you need to look outside of your local area before you give up.... if you live anywhere near here which i doubt you do i'd reccomend him to you. see a dietician they really can help with the practical matters where a doc will tell you "don't eat this or that"...... trust me i know i work in health care.....allergens i'm affected by:wheat possiblybarley possible no more beer :(porksoyeggsall tree nutsmost shellfishsalmontrout ( i found this out on my own )the list goes on...
