:( Hi. I am experiencing several symptoms and don't know where to start for help. I am a 41 year old female, non smoker. I have hot spells alot, duriing the day to where it interfers with my job performance. I have to sit down, fan myself etc. I get night sweats, can't sleep for being cold one minute, hot the next then cold, then hot. I suffer from a long time of depression and take Prozac (60 mg) per day. I am on high blood pressure, just recently diagnosed. I have alot, alot of muscle, joint pain. In my hips and knees mostly. I have had chronic back pain for a long time. My arms and legs hurt so bad sometimes I feel like I can barely lift them, so it is major struggle to work, but I go everyday. I have irregular periods. Sometimes I cramp for 2-3 weeks and nothing happens, other times I bleed for 28 days straight. I have been treated over the past 6 months for anemia and mono. I feel like I am falling apart. I am miserable, 95% of the time, and feel like a very old, old woman. I don't know where to start. Any help or suggestions... I don't know what kind of Dr. to see.?????

  • Maybe and endocrinologist could evaluate your hormone and thyroid levels. It sounds like fibromyalgia, perhaps. Maybe peri-menopause. Hormone levels can play havoc with all kinds of things - how's your sleep? Do you feel rested or sleep and feel like you never slept or have insomnia? These are some questions which may help your doctor evaluate your symptoms.

  • Hi I appreciate your feedback. The doctors are checking my hormone levels and thyroid right now, waiting on results. My gyn and family dr, mentioned possible perimenopause also. I am tired all the time and yes when I sleep, I sleep sound or so I think, I wake up in the morning and feel like I havent slept at all. I don't have insomnia though, If it is premen. I just hope they can give me medication to help me. I am getting quite stressed and depressed from feeling bad so much. Thanks again.. :) Maybe and endocrinologist could evaluate your hormone and thyroid levels. It sounds like fibromyalgia, perhaps. Maybe peri-menopause. • Why not try natural harmones from Natures Sunshine products, my mom had the worst pains and aches and went with the change of body temperatures for a while. Also she would get her periods at times and other nothing at all. But she tried natural harmones, believe it or not her problems were solved. Harmones play a key in our body for proper function. Try it, you have nothing to loose, but feel relieved from the change in body temperature and your periods. Hope you feel better soon.

  • If you are concerned about menopausal problems you should go to a Female doctor who specializes in menopause. Check to see if you have a Menopause clinic in your area. It is probably unwise to take natural hormone therapy until you know what is going on. I found that they made matters worse as did my sister. It is possible to have excessive oestrogen in the body which can cause problems, especially if you have previously been on the contrceptive pill in your life. HRT and natural oestrogen producing products can exacerbate the problem. I am not a doctor but have being going through menopause for quite a few years and have had (and am still having) health problems, some quite severe. The above advice is from my own experience. Good luck.
