I am a 34 year old male and believe I may have ADHD but have not visited the doctor. For the past several years I have had symptoms of something, I don't know what, such as an inability to concentrate (in classroom settings for sometimes as little as 3-5 minutes of lecture), I'm always moving my feet (mostly to music in my head), my memory is horrible and getting worse (I can forget a persons name within only a minute of a first meeting), I am easily distracted from a given task, I have difficulty finishing tasks because of this, my time management is horrible, I try to engage in conversation with someone and am quickly distracted by anything (sounds, music, someone else talking or walking into the room), and constantly fidgit with my hands. My mind is always racing thinking about things. I lose my temper easily, sometimes over the smallest of things and am very irritable at times. This has made work and marriage difficult, especially with my poor attention span and memory. What's really unusual is that about 8 months ago my wife and I went on a weekend trip to visit family. The night before we left I felt unusual. I had none of the above symptoms and I felt awake, I was speaking with a memory of phrases I had not used in years, I was remembering many things and names which I had forgotten, and this lasted that night and the following day. I was speaking with family in a way I could not ever remember, getting along well. I wondered if it was permanent or temporary. Sure enough I awoke the next day to the usual mess and have not experience this again. What should I do now? Life is getting harder and harder every day.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
