Since quite recently (Tuesday last week, April 17th) I have been suffering some symptoms that pointed unambiguously to gastro-enteritis. I felt tired the whole time, generally weak all over my body, loss of concentration, loss of appetite, abdominal bloating, diarrhoea. These were the main symptoms. I only felt like sleeping, practically the whole day. I almost ate nothing. I felt dizzy when standing up. Focusing on my work tasks and deliver qualitative work results was impossible. I didn't have the strength to do more than pick a glass up.
So my GP ordered me to stay home from work for a couple of days, as she diagnosed my affliction as gastritis-enteritis. She also ordered me to take Enterol to cleanse my bowels.
So I stuck to my sofa, sleeping and resting the whole day round. By the weekend, I was relieved to see that some of the major symptoms were receding. No more dizziness, a better appetite, concentration, less weakness. I supposed this was the end of my illness, but the second day I returned to work (Tuesday April 24th)... all of the symptoms resurged. So now I am back at home until the weekend. I'm worrying that my affliction is not just a passing gastro-enteritis. My GP took a blood sample and they will have results tomorrow. I am getting deeply concerned about my condition because I have never in my life experienced something as harrowing as this period of (resurgent) illness.
