9 yrs, from LOUD ringing, now tingling on left side

Repeated sinus infections 9 yrs ago left me with ringing on left upper side of my head so LOUD that I could hardly function--slept maybe 5 hrs max for 2 mos. Then antibiotic Bactrim brought it down so I couldn't hear it over my car and radio. Dose given was 7 days, and I called and pleaded for prescription for 3 more days--denied. Came back, but never as loud. Over the yrs since I've had constant skin erruptions on left side, often in strange lineup, that ooze and take weeks to heal---now one area on upper left back has had from 1-5 erruptions since 11/08. As of 2 yrs ago I have also had slight numbness/tingling, first under left shoulder blade, then since 2/08 my left foot, moving up my leg, left half of lips...
Neurologist and endocrynologist and ear/nose/throat docs haven't helped. Since it responds to antibiotics, I've resorted to having some on hand to use if I get desperate; but never clears up. Could it be fungal? I have traveled in undeveloped countries, as well as go barefoot often, etc., so a friend suggested I try to see a CDC dr.
Appreciate any possible help.

  • It's a good idea - go see a CDC. You have very special symptoms and maybe it has something to do with your traveling. But only a specialist can give a definite opinion on this, so don't lose time and ask again. I can imagine that's it's hard for you to go from one doctor to the other for such a long time but don't lose faith - maybe one of them finds a way to treat your problem effectively.
