Hi I am a 34yr male; 5ft 8in my weight is 15 stone. I am writing for any possible advice that you or members of your professional team can offer me in way of diagnosis or advice as to where I could seek further help.
Over the past five years I have suffered from various medical ailments that have progressively worsened over time. The symptoms initially started with a slight twitching sensation to my right leg after a really heavy week drinking whilst on holiday five years ago. Over the months that followed the twitching became more frequent, it got worse after drinking or exertion. As the months and years passed the pains to my right liver/kidney became worse and are now constant as is the muscle twitching sensation. I have suffered irregular pains to my stomach and chest area. I frequently feel light headed with little to no energy.
When I participate in light exercise golf/walking the pains and twitching temporally subside, but not long after sitting back down, the muscle twitching and pain in side are soon to return . I find that if I drink alcohol or take certain medication this also creates a more intensified pain to my liver/kidney area and a rise in the twitching sensation.
I have seen various specialists who have carried out a number of tests yet no diagnosis has been given. From the tests that have been carried out it has become apparent that I have a slightly enlarged heart, a thickening of the heart, fatty liver, a constantly raised ck level, it was recorded at 595, but on the last test the ck level was around 281... I have had constant elevated liver enzymes in the past, this I feel stems from the heavy drinking I did in my teen/early twenties (around 150 units a week) however they are now back within normal levels. I have a resting pulse rate of 45. my blood pressure is normally raised around 145/90
I have recently had a private medical consultation the specialist who examined me suggested that I have a macro ck blood test I was told I needed to talk to my doctor about this. When I spoke to my doctor he stated that only one specialist could authorize the blood test when the doctor asked this specialist he stated that I did not fit the criteria so the request was declined. I offered to pay for this test myself as if is expensive yet still I was told no.
As you can appreciate I hold great concern over my declining health as I am a husband and father of three and the inability to diagnose what is causing my ill health unnerves me. My quality of life is very poor due to constantly being in pain and that fact that no diagnosis can be found despite the ailments that I have had to deal with over the past five years and continue to deal with on a daily basis. I would greatly appreciate any advice you could offer as I am unaware as to where to go to next...
