Hi, i'm a 21 year old female and have been going through problems with erythema multiform which is a sign of a disease for about 8 months and the rash is always popping up every 2 weeks. Last week i had a problem with my spleen, it was extremely tender and vicadin would not even help the pain. For 8 months now i've seen probably a doctor every couple of weeks and am getting frustrated because none of them will actually perform blood work or normal physical examinations, all they do is "look" at me and tell me what they think which is stupid in my opinion. hope someone can tell me what to do because i'm in school and can't even enjoy my college years because every day i feel like i'm getting worse :(

  • Go and see a dermatologist. Ask for a referral from your doctor if one is needed but dont tax your GPs' brians about tests as they wouldn't know which way to go and you will keep being fobbed off, but the dermo will know. You getting the rashes every two weeks is only going to tax your immune system. Also, you need to find out all the possible things that may be triggering your EM, for you to be getting so much reoccurance you must be around something that is triggering it and you need to find what it is. Join a EM support group where you will be able to exchange experiences and track down the triggers. Double check that any medications you take aren't the culprit.agape, searchingsam

  • Never give up.Last entry was good advice. But maintain your autonimy in this. Doctors are not gods They are human and you are seeking a useful opinion from them. Even if they are not that helpful. Never give up on yourself. Understand how your body works find out what triggers the problem. I've had acascade of health problems starting with the immune system malfunctionTreatment from the point of view of nutritional medicine has turned things around. Recently I've finally learned to meditate(BRILLIANT) If you are studying your brain may be exhausting your body. Bringing psychological energy into the body feels life giving:)
