I have served in the military 14 plus years. I was diagnosed with a heart a
irregular heartbeat. It was shocked back into a normal rythym twice and I was placed on flecanide. My doctor gave the casues as acohol. I believe it was the long stressful navy days. Why when we risk our life and serve our country we can't get a fair military discharge?

  • My husband and his brother both have heart arrythmias (atrial fibrillation) and both have been told by their Drs not to drink alcohol, that it can bring on an attack. My husband rarely drinks and when he has 2 beers sometimes he has the arrythmia. They also shouldn't have caffeine or alot of sugar.

  • Food allergies or intolerances can do this. Try giving up dairy and wheat for a week and see what happens - could be an easy solution - worked for me.

  • My husband had an irregular heart beat off and on and found that sugar and fatigue could bring on an episode. Then he had an episode where his heart rate was so fast 200 bpm that he thought he was having a heart attack. Turns out he has a congenital condition called Wolfe Parkinson White Syndrome where there is an extra "pathway" on his heart. It develops in utero at 8 weeks of gestation and gets worse as people age. He had to be shocked too to get the rhythm back to normal, and had catheter ablation to "burn" away the tissue that served as this extra pathway, so now, no problems. There was an episode on CSI where the ME said the corpse had Wolfe Parkinson White Syndrome - I'd never heard of it before and then there it was on CSI.

  • I have WPWS. I had rhumatic fever at age six. I've had WPWS all my life and I've made it to 60. I went for many years undiagnosed and mis-diagnosed. Most doctors, and this INCLUDES HEART SPECIALISTS, haven't got a clue about WPWS or how to spot it. I also have RLS. Restless Leg Syndrome. For six years, 1994-2000, I suffered near death experiences some three times a week. (Nothing like a heart attack a week to bring you closer to loving life.) It was the very CSI episode that finally drove the truth home for me. I was being treated for my RLS with QUININE SULFATE. Guaranteed Instant Death for WPWS sufferers. I was also being misdiagnosed and treated for panick attack syndrome with Xanax, the second worst thing for WPWS. And while on the Atkins Diet, I was taking Co-Q10. Third on the list of "can't haves." It takes about three to seven years to get these drugs out of your system because the body stores the damned stuff in the fatty tissues of the body. I threw these out of my life and have been so much better for it, you would not believe. So here's the list. If you have WPWS stay the ***l away from these:Quinine Sulfate..this is includes tonic water...Xanax...or any generic of Xanax...CO-Q10...it may help other peoples' hearts, but it's murder for usalcohol...guess that rules out a gin and tonic...caffine...total bummer...nicotine...at this point one should consider a life as a Tibetan Monk....I'm sure there are more things to add to this list like liver, fried egg plant, Kraft macoroni and cheese and other things I don't like, but these seem to be the big offenders.Live happy. Live Long

  • I was once upon a time diagnosed with Arrythmia plus angina, heart murmer and the valve sickness.... Of course one would have to look at what I was going through or endured. A form of torture and beatings one in which I was raped and tortured by a group of five criminals, being stalked and having crimes committed against me by a rock star, and other venom type people. What I did is a number of things. I made up my mind to heal first after seeing doctors at hospital. The first step is to know and conclude that you want to heal and not live out your life reliant on heart meds and being heart ill. Next step get rid of hateful evil people in your life if you can. Being diagnosed with heart problems should be enough for any navy or army to let you leave honorably. It would be a crime to keep anyone with any sort of heart problem or emotional problem for that matter. If anyone has suicide thoughts it is legally an immediate ground for honorary discharge or rest. If in the army or navy get a lawyer to fight for you if you can. Army people or the Military are sometimes illegal and cruel, putting undue pressure on those who need to heal and need immediate attention. Inhumane unconscious thinking pervades every military and is illegal though. Shock therapy is outdated, cruel and evil as they used to use it on so called, "mental patients" and it has proven time and time again through the ages to be a cruel and outdated barbaric way of doing medicine. Only an idiot would recommend shock treatment. Just as doctors so proudly once thought that bleeding people would heal diseases such as in the late 1500's the same goes for shock treatment. That isn't medicine - it is outright cruelty and incompassion! Arrythmia can be healed with meditation, relaxed surroundings, not being yelled at and expected to do immoral acts for anyone and change of diet, location, and detox systems. For me I never liked milk so I didn't drink milk. I went back to being a vegetarian. Much more humane thinking felt spiritually better to me. I don't need to eat cows, fish, eggs, or fowl to remain alive and healthy what so ever. I eat soy based foods and yes make sure I get enough protein. I take vitamins and potassium. Potassium is essential to the heart and many doctors over look this factor. If you are lacking in eating your banana supply and baked potatoes you just may very well have a potassium deficiency. Also I gave up alcohol. No more wine. No more champaign. I don't signal these chemicals as ways to celebrate any longer. I celebrate me and not participating in peer pressure and do like everyone else. I'm unique, special, and different. Just because ten million people think it is a good sign to drink together, get smashed together, get weezy and drunk together over holidays doesn't mean I agree. I do not agree! Alcohol drinking isn't a way to manhood or woman hood and doesn't make you any more desirable as the subliminal alcohol adds would like you to believe and have brainwashed most to believe. Although alcohol was used instead of anasthesia once upon a time and did in fact "help some" it doesn't numb emotional distress or pain or take away emotional blocks that prevent one from having fun. It just masks the pain or sorrow for awhile is all and is a depressant. Alcohol causes headaches as well. One glass of red wine won't help your heart either as the alcohol wine industry would like you to believe. Yes it can be a relaxant at moments and make your either more freindly, paranoid, or funny. But if you decide to be that way on your own without alcohol you can do that just by sheer will of mind. Alcohol is a fowl smelling harsh chemical that is both cunning, baffling, and tricky...It's a sidewinder like a snake that tricks you into a false sense of well being than turns on your like a venemous enemy - sort of like an enemy that smiles in your face while holding a machete behind their back. That is alcohol. I know because I have years of experience with alcohol.... I go to AA. I spent my child hood years following kids at school drinking beers that made me depressed, lazy, sick and hopeless at times. It also made me forget and have some depressed moments of hopelessness. It's a business - alcohol - don't forget it. The industry producers couldn't care less if your heart is affected, if it affects your social standing, or what becomes of you at all! Remember that. The alcohol industry is your enemy in fact. Setting aside personal squabbling as to what alcohol is and what it does to heal you may need to resist the temptation to get wasted or relaxed. There are natural remedies like Hawthorne berry. I took a few drops in a glass of water after being diagnosed and felt better immediately. The harsh effects of alcohol ingestion can't compare to the gentle calming effect of Hawthorne Berries or the tincture in a tiny amount. Be kind to yourself please. Just because everyone else seems tough, unconcerned, cruel, unkind, fowl, unpleasant, and ready or willing to protect the country with this attitude doesn't mean they are helpful in healing your problem. The Navy may need members to protect its waters but it definitely does NOT NEED anyone diagnosed with any sort of heart ailment. It's ok not to be needed for pride's sake and to instead heal, recover, and gain ground on your own life. Pride sometimes goeth before the fall. The false pride the country sometimes brainwashes people with is that - "false". Take pride in your own well being and recovery instead. You cannot protect the waters well and it isn't fair to be made to do so if you have Arrythmia. In fact too many harsh like people is not what you need now. I found out I did fine without milk, meat, and the like and now have a full recovery after many years, tests, hardships, and quests. Soy meals are great and in fact you won't even notice the difference of soy meat as opposed to real meat. The difference is is that you are not supporting the cruel and inhumane treatment of animals by maniacs who literally torture those poor creatures to death and then feed it to you. What do you think that does to your spirit. Studies have found that people who are more reasonable, think before they act and less likely to commit crimes eat soy that meat eaters. The spirit and essence of the problem may be the solution to wars around the world as well but that's another story. Meat eating and pork isn't good for your heart. It doesn't make you a man just because you eat steak and potatoes. That's all a brainwash system imposed by a lustful set of business men who needed a way to make money easily - by slaughter (which doesn't include the barbaric treatment of animals in general by just plain psyhotic maniacs). Visit your health food store, do studies, and research all you can about healing, natural herbal remedies, kindness, and read about other people who healed from the same sickness. It can be done. YOU CAN FULLY RECOVER AND HEAL FROM YOUR SICKNESS FOREVER! Don't believe the medical industry who may never give you options of recovery other than pay to see this doctor, pay to see that doctor, get more tests, pay for this med, pay for that med...etc...etc....etc.... They won't tell you about Hawthorne Berries, about tinctures, about enlightenment, about vegetarianism, about the health and benefits of other diets and if in the military realm their doctors are paid to keep you in til your death if they have to. One thing is lacking in the American military and that of Conscience! Conscience is what makes a country great and what makes it's people even greater. The people are greater than just the idea of a country. If a country loses it's site of conscience and vision it loses it's spirit, its integrity and creates more war to make up for the lack of spiritual well being, points fingers blindly and can act like a wild demon who is deranged and without wisdom. Start by making that one major decision....Say it and believe it and say, "I will heal, I will recover now".
