I too, like all of the other comments, Have ACM Type 1. About 9 years ago, I started having horrible unbearalbe pain in my head. I went to the hospital 2 times, before they figured it (2 days in a row), however, after putting me through a spinal tap and 2 cat scans, they told me I had a brain tumor! I had to see a neuorsuregeon the next day. He told me not to worry, it was not big enough, just to have it check anually to see if it grew. I had it checked 2 years later, they said the "TUMOR" was still there, not any bigger, and "don't worry, keep having the MRI's" they are expensive and I went along time with out having one. Then one day, I got horrible symtoms that have not stopped & they said it was not a tumor, I had ACM type 1. Don't worry though, it is only 7 mm. It is not causing your symptoms. I have been to several doctors in a circle, they refer me to each other. They also said that the MRI showed that I had panisinitus (severe sinus infection) after several rounds of antibiotics, they said it was clear on the CAT scan, 2 of the doctors told me that, the 3rd one said, it is still there, I am reading the results right here. Nice, Can't anyone ever tell the truth, I think it is half the ACM and half the sinus infection, due to the symptoms I am having. Anyway, I had MRI's and CAT scans when I was little and there were no signs of any trauma or ACM or "BRAIN TUMOR!". It wasn't until I was older that anything showed. I had a car accident and stuff, in which could have caused it, they said.

  • You should post the dates of each visit, and what they told you, and more importantly, what hospital, and what was the name of the doctors involved.Remember, the only way to stop misdiagnosis, is for everyone to discuse the names of the doctors you believe may have done you wrong. Then you google their name, and see how many other people have a problem with that same doctor. There is probably a website out there somewhere called "report bad doctors online".The problem is, they focuse on the first thing they spotted, and didn't bother looking around, or even considering that something else might be there also. After the antibiotics, did you still have the pain? You might want to google "head drauma victims" and see if others have had similiar problems.

  • Thank you, wolfdreamer. I appreciate that. After the antibiotics, it did not clear up. I am still having the same symptoms. I had an MRI again on Friday, I will find out tomorrow what the results are. I went to the ER yesterday, I had the CAT scan there at the hospital, so he could look up those results, and he said, the panisinutis is gone. He believed it to be the Arnold Chiari, but he told me to check on what my MRI results show once again and go from there. He was really nice. I told him I was sick of going from doctor to doctor and getting different answers. This was the real ER Dr. I saw. I saw his assistant first and he was a ***k. He asked me what I expected from that visit, I told him I was in pain, couldn't they just prescribe me something, he said he doubted it. Then the real doctor did. He knew there was something wrong with me. I told him what meds I was on, and the horrible reactions I had to them, but the last Dr. wanted me to keep taking it.
