I Am A Single Mother Of 2. I Also Have Lupus. I Am Taking Leflunomide For My Lupus. I Have Also Taking Other Drugs In The Last 5 Years For My Lupus And Have Never Had This Problem. In The Last 3 Months I Have Had Vaginal Dryness And Redness. I Had A Pap Smear And Nearly Jumped Off The Table It Hurt So Bad. My Gyn Doctor Says It Is Because Of My Lupus Meds; The Are Drying Me Out And Thinning Out My Vaginal Wall. And She Suggest I Use A Gel For The Dryness. When I Used A Vaginal Moisturizer It Burned Like Crazy!!! I Haven't Had Sex In 2 Years So All My Std Test Came Back Normal And I Have Never Had An Std. I Am Only 32 Years Old I Cann't Go The Rest Of My Life Not Having Sex Because Of The Dryness And Redness And I Have To Take My Lupus Meds. Please Help My Rheumatologist Says I Have To Take This Medication Since The Rest Didn't Work, But The Side Effects Are Driving Me Nuts!

  • I have an autoimmune disease and in the past have had vulva/Vag. pain with intercourse, and urination. Urine analysis was neg. for infection. Urologist says he often sees this in person's with autoimmune diseases. Hydroxyzine(atarax) and Doxepin BOTH used for treating my chronic urticaria have eliminated the pain. As for the dryness. Has your Dr. checked for Sjogren's?

  • ask your doctor about topical estrogen for the genitals, it is used for women in menopause for dryness and lubrication. Don't know if itll help.

  • the pain that you experience during sex is due to friction while in urine is a little acidic so when it touches dry skin it burns, pretty much like squeezing lemon on wounds. there's a little help from lubricants during sex...but some finds it a little messy if they do work. and it doesn't solve the burning during peeing.try using replens, its hormone-free gel that moisturizes the vagina. replens will help keep the vagina naturally moist so it should help with the overall health of your vagina...you use it every three days so its more convenient...hope it helps!

  • I Am Only 21 Years Old And Have Expierenced The Same Thing, I Am Not Sure Where It Came From But Out Of The Blue I Had Horrible Pain After Sex, I Couldn't Have Sex For Longer Than A Minute. It Felt Like Someone Had Poured Acid Inside Me. I Had The Same Problems You Do. I Went To My Doctor And She Told Me To Get Replense (you Can Get It In Any Drug Store Near The Monistat) I Used For A Full Week As Perscribed And Felt So Much Better, I Can Now Have Enjoyable Sex. Although My Doctor Is Still Trying To Find Out What's Causing It Since I'm Young And I Do Not Take Other Medications...the Replense Is Helping For Now. She's Suggested I Use It For 3 Months Continiously To Restore The Vaginal Moisture.

  • I'm only 20 years old and I'm experiencing vaginal dryness. I don't know what to do about it. I've been using KY of all sorts, the natural feeling kind and others, and they help. I want to be able to be spontaneous with sex though and cannot with me being so dry down there. Me and my boyfriend have plenty of foreplay, but I still do not get wet down there. I can't figure out what's wrong and every time I look up vaginal dryness on the web it comes up with stuff about menopause and premenopause, but I'm too young to be dealing with that right?

  • I am also 20 years old and have a problem with vaginal dryness. When I google 'vaginal dryness in young women', I only read about dryness caused by menopause or premenopause. This started this past February after have chronic panic attacks for 3 months. Even before I decided to go on anti-anxiety meds, I still could not get wet during foreplay or enough for sex. I can't be spontaneous with sex with my boyfriend anymore. We use lubricants but I'm very self concious about the dryness because it happened out of no where! I don't know what to do. Replense only works for a couple days at a time. What can I do to make the dryness stop?! Please help us!! =]

  • Unless you're fully relaxed and not freaking out about why you're not "wet" down there, you're going to be tensing up your pelvic/vaginal muscles. It's an endless cycle. When you are fully relaxed and can actually enjoy sex, you'll produce the needed lubrication. If you need a little extra lubrication, I'd go with Astroglide. It doesn't burn like KY does, esp. if you have any cuts from toilet paper or friction from prior jaunts; KY will burn like lemon in a wound. But the number one thing is RELAX. Until you do this, you'll be clamped up down there like a fist. And if you force it, it will hurt/create friction, you'll clinch up even more and it's an endless cycle.

That is one anti-biotic you're supposed to stay away from any alcohol or it will make you violently sick. Have you had BV before or was there some other symptom that made your doctor think you had a bacteria infection?Try taking a probiotic - Whole Foods carries a great one that has a higher probiotic count than you can get at a CVS - it's called Florajen3 (has 15 Billion cultures); it will run you about $12. ALWAYS take a probiotic when you take an anti-biotic because the risk of getting a yeast infection can be fairly high, especially with a high dose anti-biotic.

  • I am 24 and had my baby 2 years ago. After I had her, I began catching anxiety attacks...i had post-partum depression. I havent been interested in sex anymore and am dry also. I use to have sex often and got very wet. Also, even though I had a c-section, my cervix dropped and it hurts everytime I have sex. He has to only put a little bit in. I never had this type of problem and these things make me not even want to have sex. I need to find relief also. I heard something about cough medicine (Robitussin) but i have tried it. I dont want to have to keep lubing up every time i have sex. I want something that I can drink or use that will in time replenish me.

Sex is about relaxation and if you're not relaxed, it is going to hurt - esp. when you aren't properly lubricated, which is due to you not being relaxed. It's an endless cycle. Try foreplay to get you in the mood. Use Astroglide to help you relax, even if he's just gently caressing you down there. You have to break the cycle and until you do, you're going to be scared to have sex again. If it takes a glass of wine or two (essentially what cough syrup is...alcohol) to relax you, try it. Keyword here: relax!!! I know it's hard, but ya gotta do it to break the cycle.

I know you posted this 2 years ago, but I'm having the same troubles. I've never been able to get "wet" no matter how turned on I get. Its a really hard thing to deal with. I just purchased Liquibeads by KY and they are vaginal inserts (basically like inserted just like a tampon) and I haven't gotten to use them yet. But I was wondering if you had found out about those as well? I've read some mixed reviews about them, mostly positive though. I could really use some advice on this. Your comment is the only one that has actually stuck ou to me, out of all the message boards because I noticed your hadn't mentioned anything about olr usong birth control or any other medications that would cause it. Because I just have vaginal dryness, always have. I'm only 18 years old and I really have no idea why I'm having this problem. I don't take birth control or any other medications. I'd really like some feedback from someone who has gone through the same struggles as I haved. Its hard to talk about it with other girls because none of my friends have this issue at all.. :( I hope somehow you will see this? Even though you did post over 2 years ago :p please write back! Thank you.
