Patients, doctors and other health professionals are worried that people are being wrongly diagnosed and treated, due to the amount of unvalidated diagnostic tests and 'natural' treatments which are being offered by a variety of private individuals and companies. Wrong diagnoses and treatments can be dangerous, either because the wrong treatment can cause serious side effects, or the true cause of symptoms can be left undiagnosed and untreated.

What absolute hogwash! People go out from their GPs and NHS endos (majority of) simply because they are not getting well, since when did people need other people to think for them? Yes wrong diagnosis and treatments can be dangerous that is why I was diagnosed with GAD stuck on antidepressants and not treated for hypo for years and not even diagnosed with Hashis until I asked for the test for antibodies myself, hypo causes elevated bp, I have that now too, came up gradually on their wonderful treatment.I aquired a sloppy heat valve with regurg. I had constant swollen painful joints and plantar fascilitis till I got on Armour too. GEE THANKS FOR THAT WONDERFUL TREATMENT PROTOCOL YOU ARE ENDORSING OH VERY WISE ONES! (Your life in their hands, scary isn't it?) http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/images/smilies/icon_evil.gif . TSH and T4 don't explain everything, I am so so angry.
""I am delighted that the statement provides real clarity for patients and health professionals in this important clinical area."

Professor Jayne Franklin, President of the British Thyroid Association,

"This statement, supported by a large number of patient and professional groups, gives a clear indication to patients and their doctors how their thyroid condition may be best diagnosed and treated. The British Thyroid Association welcomes it as a way of ensuring that patients are provided with the highest standard of care."

More hogwash! Who are these patient groups and how can I find out? I shall certainly make sure I avoid the sheeple mentality (if these patient groups even exist ) http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/images/smilies/icon_mad.gif

ONE treatment, ONE http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/images/smilies/icon_evil.gif and what if it doesn't get you well? What if they leave you in a constant state of ***l suffering continuing hypo symptoms which is what happened to me and you spiral down and down until they finally have to diagnose you with CFS/FM because your body is just so sick to death of trying to compensate. Who are the people who love to stamp on my right to choose?
BTF and BTA (both organisations connected aren't they? iffy that innit?)
Congratualtions to the profession that has the patients in the US sympathising with us UK patients.http://www.opednews.com/articles/The-Ro ... 0-698.html

You can see I am more than a little p**sed.

Lotsa luv
