Ive had a sore throat infection and swelling/redness in my mouth now for over 12months, the symptoms are: Inflamed soft tissue in the mouth and inflamation in the throat area getting worse, Ive seen many doctors and had many courses of antibiotics/pills/medicenes/etc. But nothing has worked Then i went to ENT specialist he said the problem was Tonsills (95% sure), In April 07 I had the tonsills removed in Hospital but the problems with my Throat/Mouth still remain.
Now the back of my throat is completely swollen and i almost cant swallow
Does anyone have any information or have similar problems or cures??

  • Look up homeopathy: sore throat and go to your local health food store and try some, along with good golden seal...it could still be something in your teeth irritating you or you could have something from oral sex.

  • Treatment failures from 10 day course anti-biotics could indicate a Ana-erobic bacterial infection. Ana-erobic infections take 23 days & up to 30 days to sucessfully eliminate. Ana-erobic infections are strong Penicillin-ase and Cephlosporin-ase producing bacterica. That is to say they 'digest' the main ingredient in anti-biotics. Suprax, is a highly stable cephlosporin anti-biotic. It is the ONLY remaining anti-biotic that Gonorrhea has not gained any resistance to. Unfortunately, I think Canada is the only source of this anti-biotic in pill form. You can request Suprax in liquid form here in the United States, however. Again, you need at least 23 days of continuous treatment to eliminate this type of infection. Another option which is a 'nuclear option' is to use Chloromycetin(Chloramphenicol) which I think will kill just about any kind of bacteria in your throat. It has the potential of causing serious problems if you use it for a prolonged time. But I should think it could even kill Ana-erobes in a matter of a few days instead of 23 days with the weaker beta-lactam anti-biotics.
