I am plagued with weekly viral symptoms. They come on sudden and hit hard. My head and throat ache. I get a fullness in my head, get weak in the limbs and I get short of breath. Sometimes there is coughing and sneezing. I run frequent low-grade fevers, especially upon exertion. It seems to run in a cycle. I know if I've been well for two days that it's around the corner. It has been pretty well determined that these are recurring viruses as I don't have to leave the house to get sick, though my immune system is very weak and I can catch strep just going to the grocery store. They don't vary with the climate or with location; I've moved many times. I have Epstein-Barr and Herpes, but have had a thorough work up done and the only thing the immunologist can tell me is that my immune system is "revved up." I've spending hundreds on supplements every month and getting nowhere. Does anyone out there have similar recurring viral symptoms? Can anyone suggest how to treat viruses that are IN THE BODY? I am 33, been sick for 16 years, but have had these viral symptoms for the past 5. My quality of life is so bad, that life no longer feels worth it. I've got a lot to live for but the physical suffering and constant disappointment of being unable to live any sort of normal life is unbearable. Thanks, for listening.

  • Epstein Barr virus is what gives you Chronic Fatigue. I also had this combination and can only say that I spent a year carefully pacing myself (limit stress), getting lots of sleep and doing light regular exercise. I seemed to get back to normal doing this but even now I get the odd bout of tonsilitis when I am run down - 15 years later.Forget all the supplements and eat a healthy diet.
