First 30 years of my life I seemed to have very low immunity to colds - they lasted weeks and were very severe. A small scratch would take hours for bleeding to stop. I would get huge black and blue marks on legs and arms. Insect bites would swell to 6 inches and last weeks. No one would believe me about the bleeding problem. I had my 1st minor operation at age 25 (gums) and told the Dr. about my bleeding problem and he said 'don't worry'. I woke up from what should have been a 20 minute procedure - in almost 3 hours! and was told they 'could not stop the bleeding".
Had abour 8 early mis-carriages. Finally after extended bleeding from a mis-carriage (at age 30) - my gynocologist suggested 1500 mg per day of Vitamin C.
No more black and blue marks! No more extended bleeding from scratches! Just normal head cold symptoms! And.... I had a 9 lb baby boy - with no complications.
I now take about 3 grams/day of Vitamin C.
BUT... Doctors today still do not believe my story!!!!!
