Ruptured Appendix

Just reading your stories about misdiagnosis and reminded me of when I was 14 and my appendix burst. Went to family doc and was told it was a kidney infection and gave me prescription and told me to drink 4 pints of water daily (which actually caused my appendix to burst). 3 days later I had the most unbelievable pain and was crying and screaming. My parents took me to A&E and they had to sign for surgery almost immediately. I was later told that I actually stopped breathing on the operating table for a nano second. I'm now 35 and think that I may be infertile. It's scary and disgraceful that doctors can get it so wrong sometimes but at least I'm still alive and kicking.
