I went to my dr. today for insomnia. He prescribed Trazodone. I asked him if it would interfere with my paxil and he said no. After getting home I looked up Trazodone and all sites said not to take with paxil and could have serious effects together. Should I just take them together like my dr said to or take him the article that says not to. Confused and scared.

  • Both of these drugs raise the serotonin level by producing more or not letting it escape the brain. An overdose of serotonin can be deadly. I suggest you call your (or maybe another?) doctor before you combine those two drugs.
