I was told I needed arthroscopic surgery for arthritis in my left. No problem, quick recovery. Well, that was in March. I've returned to the doctor complaining about the pain and was told that I needed to help myself and have physical theraphy at least 5 times a week. No follow-up x-rays to make sure all was well. November rolls around and my right knee starts hurting. This doctor literally walks in the room and sits at his desk and proceeds to tell me I have arthritis in my right knee also and again lectures me on the physical therapy bit. Again, no x-rays or MRI taken. I continue PT but decided to go for a second opinion. Got MRIs on both knees and it turns out that the left knee that the surgery was done on has water in it and is softening the bones. The right knee has a torn ligament and edema around the bone marrow. My new doctor wants me to stay off my feet, take a baby asperin a day and wear support hose along with a knee brace. Now I'm going to see a new orthopedic surgeon and hopefully I'll find out where I go from here!! I've lost time off from work and been in pain all this time just cause this doctor did not do his job. Anybody have any idea what action I should take? ThanksReply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
