During my pregnancy I had alot of pelvic pain and seemed to always have to be off of work, even thought the doctor said he couldnt find anything wrong with me. About half way into the pregnancy the doctor said he thought I had preeclampsia and wanted to do some tests... After taking the blood test i had never heard anything back... I assumed everything was fine. Until I started getting headaches so bad that I would black out, I was so swollen that I couldnt even bend my fingers, and amazingly I had a 28lb weight gain in less then a 2 wk period. I went back to this doctor and quote "theres nothing wrong with you, you're not going to have this baby early, unless you go into labor you dont need to come back for 3 weeks" He didnt believe me that anything was wrong! Well, I couldnt wait 3 weeks, the next week I went to see who was then his wife. Sure enough she knew right away by my telling her what was wrong that I had preeclampsia. In fact after running tests, it was so bad I had to immediately be induced. Well with only being 7 1/2 months the baby was not ready to come out! A couple days later I was so bad I began to seizure uncontrollably and had episodes of blacking out. I had an emergency c-section. With my blood pressure so high (in the high 200s over the low 200s) I was unable to hold my baby, have visitors, turn on lights or watch tv! It was a horrible experience! Not knowing what preeclampsia or eclampsia was when I went into my previos doctor, I had no idea tha this doctor misdiagnosed me at the time. Now that I have already had my child I suffer from severe pelvic pain and constant vaginal bleeding. I have emailed a lawyer and have decided to take action! Everyone makes mistakes on the job, but when you're a doctor it shouldnt be with someones life!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
