I have been misdiagnosed with different psychiatric disorders through the years because of my overly intrusive family members input (who are not psychiatrists themselves). I have had several electroconvulsive shock treatments, been on the wrong medication, etc.... and it has cost me a lot of money (for over 20 years or so). I do have depression but some of the treatments I have been on have been incorrect. I am glad that now at 47 years of age, in 2009 psychiatric patient's have additional rights and there is better psychiatric medication. I hope that the general public is able to buy those medications because they work. I am on a lot less (I still need some psychiatric medication) and have found because of a slow metabolism and an overload of stress, I do very well with over the counter steroids and a small amount of psychiatric medication.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
