last week i was diagnosed with inflamed sweat glands for a rash that i had. i was given medication but over the last week the rash has gotten worse and spread not gotten better.

i didnt think the doctor had it right, because he literally looked at them for 10 seconds and said i have inflamed swaet glands.

so now i will go back again today and see what they really are and there is no way he is going to look for 10 seconds again and tell me what he thinks they are

  • yes i have been back i have now had this rash for 8 weeks and it has spread to my forehead as well. i have had two opinions by two different doctors and been refered to a dermatologist and still no one has any actual idea what it is. i have almost every steroid based cream given to me including the strongest and it hasnt cleared anything. it is slowly but surely spreading. i have been visiting the doctor every few days to see if they have come up with what it is. i had a section cut out last week for testing and should find out the results hopefully tomorrow. i cant believe i have had this rash now for 2 months and no one seems to know what it is. it is definitely not inflamed sweat glands.

  • Good luck with this appointment. :) My allergy testing showed I wasn't allergic to dog hair/animal danders yet on ocassions I can pat my dogs and not have any weird skin complaints, other times I come out in an awful itchy rash. So while some tests may show negative it's not always the case. Try and keep notes of things you're doing, foods you're eating etc, you may just find some triggers xxxSamantha http://www.undiagnosedillness.org

  • i get my results this aftrenoon in about an hours time.the doctor rang this morning saying he had results showing its a skin infection but that he would talk more to me when i come in this afternoon to get my stich from my biopsy taken out. i know its not allergic that was ruled out and im only allergic to cat dander and dust mites nothing else. im only mildly allergic to these. i will update everyone once ive been told what it is. the rash has only ever been mildly itchy on occasions and not painful. it looks like folliculitis and i was treated for that using 3 different medications when that failed i was given some other medications and when they too failed was referred to a dermatologist, i thought she got it right as it almost instantly cleared but two days after starting the meds it flared up again and got worse.she thought it was some sort of eczema with herpes.
