I have a large mass on the left side of my head, behind my ear. Its about the size of my fist, and it extreamly painful. It has caused me severe headaches. This has been occuring for almost a month now.

I went to the dr, and she said that it is a migraine. I have never heard of a migraine causing lumps on someones head, but she gave me a shot and sent me home with Imitrex, Prednisone, and Tizanidine, which is a mussle relaxer. I took all the medicines as directed, but when I took the Imitrex, My head started pounding even harder, my shoulder and my entire left arm was aching and tingling. I took a mussle relaxer to sleep it off, but I woke up still feeling like garbage.

Could this really be a migraine, or should I go get a second opinion?

  • It could be a migraine caused by something else, did you mention the lump to her? If you did, you need to go to another doctor as soon as possible. It could be some sort of infection or a tumor, you really need to get checked out as soon as possible!
