I've had this problem since I was a freshmen in college. Dermatologist decided it was trichnomania which is common in the mentally retarded. So she reasion I was pulling my hair out because I was stupid. This was the same doctor who left me with a ***n cyst in the middle of my back for years until I finallyjust got tired of her ineptitude and fired her. She let me suffer, insulted me and wasted both my money and my time. I wasn't getting sleep because the cyst on my back hurt like the dickens. So for a while I just decided it was easier living with the cyst on my back and putting up with my itchy scalp rather than driving all the way out there and paying 80 dollars and recieving no treatment or reasonable advice.
Then I couldn't stand it anymore so I picked a different dermatologist and he actually was covered by my insurance cost less and popped the thing on my back and drained it in one visit. So then I wasn't in awful pain could get some sleep and I did better yet was reluctant to tell him about the head thing. Tried treating it myself but no matter what I did there was intense itching and the only way I was getting sleep was to drink myself into a stupor finally just so the itching wouldn't keep me awake since medicine seemed useless and insulting I just gave up on it and decided living with the intense itching was easier. Now I've shaved my head so the doctor will be able to see the problem better. I'm wondering if I should bother getting treated or is this a waste of both time and money? I'm thinking to try again maybe with the second doctor and send my diagnosis to the first or maybe not even bother with her. She could have saved me alot of pain and poor sleep if she just picked up a needle and poked the thing hard popping it for me. I mean a doc is supposed to either care about their patients or at least be the sort who wants to treat the patients as effectively as they can so they can treat the next person and get the money.
