Two years ago I was misdiagoised. I was told I was having gallbladder pain. No positive test to support this dx, but nothing else tested was positive. Months went by. It was a ruptured appendix. No labs have ever been abnormal for me.
After surgey, I had months of antibiotic treatment.
For the last two years I have been unable to work. My memory is poor. I am exausted. I have had sleep studies, and have a dx of hypersomnia. At first, I fell asleep every time I stopped moving. I used to put the car in park at stoplights. Now I can feel the sleep-spell coming on, it is like a hot flash except I fall asleep. I have 1-4 each day and it lasts 15 minutes to 3o minutes. Also, my joints, musceles and bones ache. My teeth feel like they are going to pop out. I now also have advanced degenerative disk disease.
My many doctors have never seen anything like this. My neurologist thinks I had brain damage during my surgery.
Now.... two weeks ago I was put on prednisone 20mg qd x 7 days for a si joint flare up.
My symptoms disapered within 48 hours of starting prednisone. And have returned 48 hours after stopping prednisone.
What next?
