The first of May of 2010,I had what I thought were symptoms for Lyme disease.I have weakness in one leg, loss of function in knee, numbness in one arm and hand and numbness in the other hand ,tingling and burning in tips of fingers and one arm, fatigue , and shortness of breath. Went to the Dr. had test done,no Lyme,no thyroid, kidney,or diabetes, problems Had 2 chest ex-rays,and a CT scan of the chest test came back found a small Shwannoma(nerve lesion)on my back, said it was nothing to worry about. After all these tests I still have all these symptoms and no answers. Now they want me to have an MRI of my chest and an MRI of the brain,is there no end.? I am a denture wearer and have been told(by my friends) that they have heard of people with these symptoms having zinc poisoning caused from using denture adhesive for a long period of time.Well could this be the problem?I'm 60 yrs old and have been using adhesive on my dentures for over 10 yrs,Can anyone tell me how I go about getting tested for this or what type of Dr.to see?

  • It is good you are getting the MRI's they will tell you if you have anything serious. If nothing shows up it may be possible that you have chronic fatigue syndrome and/or chronic migraine. Numbness is a symptom. Good luck!

  • It could be possible to have a vitamin b12 deficiency. If left untreated, it can lead to the numbness and tingling you are feeling.Click for list of symptoms---> http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/v/vitamin_b12_deficiency/symptoms.htm

  • Hopefully you have been able to receive some answers since your post. But if your still searching for answers...The numbness/tingling you feel is called paresthesias ---> http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/sym/paresthesias.htmThat symptom along with the leg symptoms could be a type of neuropathy. http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/p/peripheral_neuropathy/symptoms.htmI would guess it would be best to see a neurologist.Good luck!

  • A poster suggested chronic fatigue syndrome. I myself have CFS/ME and dont think the original poster has this illness thou it can cause those symptoms, as the original poster didnt mention any of the common symptoms that nearly all CFS people get eg headaches, "post exertional" fatigue/malaise, insomina/hypersomnia etc Chronic fatigue syndrome isnt a a waste basket illness and often the combination of symptoms along can make this illness quite distinct.............. B12 deficiency. That would fit with those symptoms...sounding like a quite classical case a B12 issue
