my husband was told he had a std and all the doctors thought it was really funny. well 2 weeks later he couldnt walk. he had emergency surgery for testicular cancer. usually testicular cancer is like one of the most curable cancers there is. however, that time that we spent almost getting a divorce over thinking the other one cheated, the cancer spread to abdominal lymphnodes. he has had 4 surgeries and 2 hard rounds of chemo. just found out cancer is in bones, upper lymphnodes, and probably the brain. so thank you hospital for giving my husband a death sentence:mad:

  • The cancer spread a long time ago. It is only now causing symptom. Two weeks isn't enough to make a difference. Now if it were 6 months, or 2 years, maybe.

He has suffered long-lasting or permanent damages as a result, so that reinforces your case.Medicine is not an exact science. Just because the hospital initially diagnosed it as an STD, EVEN IF THAT DIAGNOSIS IS INCORRECT does not necessarily constitute malpractice. Finally, 2 weeks isn't long enough to determine that your diagnosis was caused by the hospital's alleged misdiagnosis. It takes time for that cancer to metastasize.Medical malpractice is exceedingly expensive and just the medmal expert's determination as to whether you have a case or not, can cost you thousands of dollars (not reimbursable if you lose the case).I don't believe you have a case.By the way, you both handled the situation very poorly. If there was any discrepancies between you two and the diagnosis of an STD, why didn't you go for a second opinion?

The doctor needs to do something that causes measurable harm in order for you to sue them. If you could sue someone for doing something stupid or ignorant we would all be in trouble. The doctors did not cause actual harm.

  • The laws are on the doctors sides. Doctors and lawyers are sick humans. They practice in the biggest game ever to exist. I had lesions on my lips 7 years ago and the doctors misdiagnosed them as fordyce spots but they were actually pre-cancerous. I went to doctors from early 2004 to late 2005 trying to get a diagnoses and still they messed it up. 7 years later I have cancer and its too late. This misdiagnoses cost me my life, it should atleast cost them there license but the statue of limitation protects them to continue on. You should try to sue, if that does not work your husband should get the nuts to take a gun into the hospital the next day he feels okay and kill as many as he can before he is killed.
