Over a year ago (9/06) I noticed numbness and tingling in my right hand, went to my family dr who refered me to Orthopedic Dr (had to wait a month to see him of course); in the meantime I began having a horrible burning sensation in my left hand, especially along my Unla (SP?) Nerve. By the time I saw the orthopedic dr, the pain in my left hand had spread in a glove up to just above my wrist area and my right hand was tingling and so numb it was difficult to type/write etc. Had me take test to rule out carpel tunnel, wich of corse came back negitive. Another month without change, went back to my family dr who refered me to hand specialist (same firm as orthopedic dr by the way) he had xrays taken and determined there was no segnificant arthritis or any problem that might be causing this pain. Again went back to my family dr, who put me on Nurotun because I happen to be Diabetic (type II). Two months on Nurotun still had no effect on my pain, so went back to family dr who referered me to a Nerologist who put me on Cymbalta and redid carpel tunnel test, still negitive. By this time is now February 07, in pain and hopeless as to when/if I have any hope of finding out what is wrong with me. I went to a Dr who specializes in accupunture and after a few sessions without any positive results requested an MRI and was finally diagnosed with a huge non cancerus tumor in my brain stem. Have had surgury for this and am still recuperating, but also just recently found that I had a ruptured disk C5-6 in my neck that I had to have replaced and fused so still in major pain, but hope that in few months to finally feel better.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
