This is my first time here and I am searching to see if there are other's that may have been diagnosed with a form of dementia of any kind? I was diagnosed in 2002 with Organic Brain Disease and eventually Picks's disease also known as Frontal Temporal Lobe Dementia. I was 38 when diagnosed, I am now 49. My symptoms at one time were so bad that I had to be cared for over the last couple of years I seem to have gained ground and can do most things again. I use to be a wonderful cook I still have not gained that back, we eat out alot of tv dinners, soups, sandwiches, etc. I over cook things even with using a timer or over season as I have lost my sense of taste. I can no longer follow a recipe, I cannot multi-task, I use to be very well organized and now struggle to know where things are. I still drive with caution as I do make mistakes, got a ticket recently for illegal lane change that could have killed me. I still forget to take my meds like I should and sometimes need assistance. When overly tired or stressed I get a numbness and tingling feeling on the right side of my head. I sometimes need assistanc efor grocery shopping as I crave sweets. My long term memory is pretty good but my short term memory is almost non existence. I had part 1 of a neuro-psych assessment today and go back next week for part 2 the 4 hour part where you do math, shapes, symbols, questions, drawings, etc. I have a wonderful neurologist that has followed for over 10 years with this. I was actually diagnosed at the Mayo Clininc with organic braine disease and finally Picks. I do repeat my self quite abit at times, etc. Anyway any help would be appreciated.
