To all the mothers out there reading this: if you child complains about "growing pains" more than other children, please don't ignore them.

If they seem to complain about musclosketal and joint pain more than other children, have a tall thin build with long fingers and toes, but have normal tests, consider "joint hypermobility syndrome".

It has been ignored in the medical community until lately. Take them to a rheumatologist, because family physicians are still quite ignorant on the subject.

They are not hypochondriacs. And their problems, physically and emotionally, will only worsen the longer they go undiagnosed.

I wouldn't wish the last decade of my life on my worst enemy- if I had one!
