For the last few weeks I have been having off and on intense itching in my vagina area especially after sex. It was so bad this past weekend that I literally rubbed myself raw with toliet paper. Needless to say I went to the gyno today to find out want was wrong and I was completely shocked to hear that I might have herpes. I have been married for 3 years and we are completely monogamous. I also am an egg donor and I have donated 3 times in the last year. Each time I donate they run tests to check for any STDs including herpes and they all have been negative. The doctor noted that I had thick white discharge which looked like yeast, but as soon as he saw an area on my labia where I had rubbed it raw over the weekend he said it was herpes. I tried to explain that it couldn't be possible and that I was tested just 3 months ago. He sent off sample for a culture and blood tests, but I have to wait a week for the results which is killing me. Wanted to know if anyone else had a similar experience as this. I am not taking the herpes meds until I get a positive diagnosis but I did start the meds for a yeast infection. My husband is in medical school and does not think it is Herpes either!
